Collector's Corner had the privilege of working on an order with F&J Model Buses for 20th. Century Fox to trim 175 RTS models for the cast and crew of a movie they are filming in New York City. The movie is titled "MARGARET". The Plot Outline: A young woman (Paquin) witnesses a bus accident, and is caught up in the aftermath, where the question of whether or not it was intentional affects many people's lives.

You can view more details about the movie by going to the IMDB link http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0466893/ . The movie is scheduled to Premier later this year. One of the Characters in the movie is Matthew Broderick.  20th Century Fox first came to us and then we worked with F&J Model Buses due to the size of the order and we worked all the details out together. They told us they wanted to use a RTS model like the one they were using in the movie. When both Collector's Corner and F&J Model Buses began work on this project they made several changes for the first 2 weeks. One change was they wanted to change the logo on the nose from the old "M" to the current New York City transit "MTA" logo. The next change was they wanted to place the name of the movie on both sides of the bus like the ads look on the buses. That was great and no problem except after the trim was made the Producers in Calif. decided they wanted the "MARGARET" name larger and with a row of buildings outlined  in the background. We had to start over again. They wanted to use the same bus number as the one on the bus they were using in the movie which was 4199. This was a retired NY City bus. Finally, F&J Model Buses  began trimming the buses. Each model has approx. 14 pieces of hand applied vinyl.  Each bus took approx. 20-30 min. to trim. After they received their buses I received a call asking for 25 more for a total of 200 buses made.

 

We have received special permission from 20th Century Fox to allow Collector's Corner  and F&J Model Buses  to produce and sell a limited number of these buses for collectors. The stipulation is they can only be sold out of our website's and they are NOT to be sold on ebay or any other auction site.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The RTS model trimmed like the NY City MTA for the movie "MARGARET" and 20th Century Fox.  The destination sign reads "M184 VIA BWAY" The route used in the movie  (M184) is a ficticious line. The actual line # is M104, which runs via Broadway. The bus number is 4199. This is a retired RTS bus by the NY City Transit. The center doors have a handicap logo on one door and a DO NOT ENTER sign on the other. The rear has the bus number up in the top center and the MTA logo with the words New York City Bus in the center section on the left side like the real bus. The blue striping goes all the around the bus and ends at the center brake lights on the rear.

Please remember you will only find these buses on our web site.  The price for this RTS model is $30.00 due to the amount of trim and work applied to this model. The cost for this unit would certainly be much more if made by another producer.
